We had a really nice and pleasent commencement ceremony. Our homeroom teacher, Mr. Astbury, gave a great speech about us, and his speech was followed by the Senior speech, given by one of the seniors, Margaretha. After that we were given gifts and flowers from the school and Student Counsel. They gave us commemorative scrapbooks filled with pictures and notes from other students. It was really neat! Then came the big moment...diploma time! I of course was the first one to get my diploma because my last name came first =]] But it was all ok! And since I leave tomorrow, I won't be there for the awards assembly, but they told me that I was awarded the Grade 12 Citizenship award. The recipant of this award is chosen by their classmates and teachers, so it was a real honor to get the award. Oh and before gifts, the choir sang a song, of which all the senior girls were a part of. It was really nice.
Surprisingly though, I thought I would have cried, but I didn't, at least not until the ceremony was over =]] Then the tears came as I was saying goodbye to all my good friends. It will be hard to leave them, but I can't wait to get back to California!
Now for pictures!!
